Anyone who tells you they have a system to “beat the slots” is lying to you, because that's not possible.  The odds on slot machines like all casino games always favors the casino. However, that does not mean you cannot make money playing slots. You can!

Unfortunately most slot players lose money, that's why casinos love them!  The reason they lose is they do not play smart!  The purpose of this site is tomake you aware of the 5 biggest mistakes made by slot players and hopefully keep you from doing them, and thereby have a much better chance of winning!

(How Slot Machines Really Work)

There are more myths about slot machines than any other casino game or device,

and almost all of them are false!

For example:

Hot and cold machines - There is no such thing!

This machine just hit, so it won't hit again any time soon- Not true!

The casino has set this machine so it will not hit - Not true!

What is true is that slot machines are a cash cow for casinos, that’s why they have so many of them!

The modern slot machine is really just a fancy computer with a screen to show results! The most important part is a device called the Random Number Generator or RNG, and it's the heart of the machine.

The RNG runs continually generating random numbers,  several thousand a second!  At the exact moment you press the play button, the machine takes the number it just generated and matches it to a set of symbols called reel stops. These reel stops determine the symbol combination you get for that play.  This combination is then matched against the machines pay table to determine if it’s a winning combination or not and how much it

pays if anything, and this is what is displayed on the screen for you to see!

Now the pay table is set so that the odds always favor the casino!

(THE PAYBACK)

The payback on a slot machine can be as high as 99% or as low as 80%, and the

payback can vary greatly by casino as well as by the amount your are betting per spin!

Penny machines are by far the most popular slot machines,  but usually also have the

lowest payback!  Casinos love them, and people flock to them, because they think they

are just betting pennies.  This of course is not totally true!  All penny slots have various

lines you can play and various amounts per line you can bet and minimum bet amounts!

So on “penny” machines, if you bet the maximum

amount, it can be $5.00 or more per spin!

It's important to remember that the payback on the minimum bet on a penny machines

is the lowest, and the payback on all the others bet amounts on the penny machine and

higher denomination machines is almost always higher! This means quarter slots

usually have a higher payback than penny slots, and dollar slots have higher paybacks

than quarters as do the larger bets on each machine type! This isn’t always the case,

but in general it does hold true. This upward climb normally tops out at around $5.00

per bet or machine denomination!

The greatest jumps are between the penny and dollar and five dollar machines!  After

that, payback doesn’t go up much, if at all. This means that a $100 machine may not

have a much better payback than a $5 machine, while that $5 machine will have more

than double the payback percentage of a penny machine of the same type.  Here is a

rough guide of the casino advantage by slot machines denomination or machine

 minimum bet size! 1 cent- 11.9%, 5 cent-9%, 25 cent – 8.6%, $1 – 6.7%, $5 – 5.3%, $25 –

 4.9%

#1 PLAYING TOO FAST!

The average slot player hits the spin button about once every 6 seconds which is 10 times a minute!  Why so fast?  The machine is not going anywhere, and you're not limited to the time you spend on it?

Based on the above, even if you're playing a penny machine and betting the minimum, normally 30 cents, your spending $3.00 a minute which comes to $180 an hour! Most of the time you will not win anywhere near that amount, which is why playing fast is a sure money loser!  So slow down your play!

#2 PUTTING A LARGE DENOMINATION BILL INTO THE MACINE!
This is a sure money loser! Why? Human nature being what it is, most players stay at one machine until they have used up what they put in! Never put more than a $10 bill into a machine! Now I realize this may sound crazy, but even if your playing a dollar machine, with a $5 minimum do it.  First, it slows down your rate of play and second it provides a reasonable loss limit!

#3 STAYING TOO LONG AT ONE MACHINE!
If the machine you're playing does not give you a winning spin within the first 5 to 7 spins or even if it does, but you are not ahead,  it it time to move one.  Hoping that a machine will become a winner for you, is a sure way to lose money on slots!  Remember, you are looking for the machine that will provide you consistent winning spins!

# 4 TRYING TO WIN FREE GAMES!
This is another sure money loser!  Free game awards are a random occurrence on slot machines, but slot machines offer, quite frequently, what are known as "teaser results" where 2 of the normally 3 required symbols show, and then the remaining reels go through some wild spin action, to see if the third symbol appears, and of course most of the time it does not!  However, this action is designed to make you believe you were close to winning free games, and hopefully keep you playing.  Do not be fooled!  The number of times the 3rd symbol shows is probably less than 1 in 500.  Normally, when the free games are awarded, the 3 required symbols all appear together at one time!  If the free games come up in the normal course of your play, great, they can provide big wins, but don't chase them!

#5 CHURNING!
This is the biggest money loser of all, but slot players continue to do it, and if you are one of them, please stop!  Churning is simply playing through your winnings in the hope of winning some more, but most of the time you just lose what you have won, which is why casinos love churners!

Instead of churning, what you should do is cash out, and then if you want to continue playing the machine, put a small amount back in and play through that.  For example: Say you win $100!  Immediately cash out, and put back in $20 or $30, and if you play through that without winning, leave the machine.  You're leaving $70 to $80 ahead!  Too often I see players churn
